The Central Teachers’ Eligibility Test (CTET) exam consists of two sections, each containing 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach students in grades 1 through 5, while Paper 2 is for those who wish to teach students in grades 6 through 8. Paper 1 includes 30 MCQs from each of the following subjects: child development and pedagogy, language 1, language 2, mathematics, and environmental studies.

Paper 2 includes 30 MCQs from the following subjects: child development and pedagogy, language 1, language 2, and either mathematics and science (for those who wish to teach math and science) or social studies/social science (for those who wish to teach social studies/social science). Candidates who wish to teach a subject other than math, science, or social science may choose either the mathematics and science section or the social studies section.
For language papers, candidates can choose from languages like English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Garo, Khasi, Mizo, Manipuri, Nepali, Tibetan, and Urdu.

CBSE CTET 2022 application process, fees
To apply for the CTET 2022 exam, eligible candidates must visit the official CTET website. The application fee can be paid using a debit card, credit card, or online banking. Candidates who complete the application process and pay the fee on a first-come, first-served basis will be able to choose their preferred examination city, subject to availability.
General and OBC category candidates must pay an application fee of INR 1,000 for one paper or INR 1,200 for both papers. SC and ST category candidates and those with disabilities must pay an application fee of INR 500 for one paper or INR 600 for both papers.
